Bringing Nicanor the Sinú parakeet to life
I led the creative direction and production of a special AI-generated animation for World Water Day, focusing on Nicanor. A unique parakeet from Córdoba absent from scientific records for decades.
The project blends science, local community knowledge, and the forests of Alto Sinú to remind audiences that caring for water means caring for life, biodiversity, and the memory of territories waiting to be rediscovered.
Developed through a digital storytelling workflow combining generative tools and environmental narrative, the piece highlights how technology can give voice to lost species and ecological preservation.
The animated short contributes to broader conversations about biodiversity, digital art, and territorial memory.
