Privacy policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

This website, danielmorelo.com, is the portfolio of Daniel Morelo, an artist and engineer based in Bogotá, Colombia. This page explains what information the site collects and why.

Who is responsible

Daniel Morelo — danielmoreloph@gmail.com. Write to this address for any request about your data.

What the site collects

1. Visit statistics (Google Analytics). The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how it is used: which pages are visited, from what kind of device and browser, and from which country or city. Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier, and receives your IP address, which it does not store in full. Analytics starts when you open the site. I use these statistics only to improve the site; I do not use them to identify you. Google Analytics keeps individual event data for 2 months, and data tied to a cookie or user identifier for 14 months; summarized reports that do not identify anyone are kept longer. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

2. Background music (YouTube). The site plays a music stream through an embedded YouTube player, loaded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube, which belongs to Google, may set cookies and receive your IP address when the player loads or plays. See Google’s policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

3. Preferences saved in your browser. The site remembers, in your own browser, whether you chose the light or the dark background, whether you already saw the opening screen in this session, and whether you paused the music. It also saves a small cookie, pll_language, that remembers the language of the site. These are strictly functional and are not used to identify you or for statistics; the background and music preferences stay on your device and are never sent to me or to anyone else.

4. Email. If you write to me, I use your address and your message only to reply to you.

5. Server logs. Like any website, the hosting provider (Namecheap) records technical data of each request — IP address, browser, date — for security and operation.

What the site does not do

It has no forms, no comments, no user accounts, no advertising, and it does not sell or share your information with anyone for commercial purposes.

Third-party links

The site links to other websites (social networks, institutions, press). Each one has its own privacy policy; I am not responsible for them.

Your rights

You can ask me to tell you what data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your authorization at any time. These rights are recognized by Colombian law (Ley 1581 de 2012 and its regulations) and, if you visit from the European Union, by the GDPR. Write to danielmoreloph@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its date.
